On what would have been Kyra Gupta's 13th birthday, Kyra's Hope Foundation will host its first annual Day of Light, a sanctuary day for pediatric cancer families in the Pacific Northwest.

MERCER ISLAND, WA, March 15, 2026, Kyra's Hope Foundation today announced the launch of Kyra's Day of Light, an annual gathering created in memory of Kyra Gupta and dedicated to children in active cancer treatment, survivors, and legacy families.

The inaugural Day of Light will take place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Yuan Ru Art Center in Bellevue. Programming will include art-making, family meals, and quiet space for reflection, with every detail shaped around the needs of families navigating pediatric cancer.

"Kyra believed in finding light on even the darkest days," said the foundation's leadership team. "This day exists so families know they are not walking this road alone."

The event is free for participating families and made possible by community donors, volunteers, and partner organizations. Kyra's Hope Foundation intends to host the Day of Light every year on or near Kyra's birthday, building a lasting tradition in her honor.

Kyra's Hope Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 41-2583689) bringing hope, dignity, and comfort to children facing cancer through gifts, family support, and research funding.
